| Answer: State returns are submitted with a process called "State Only", with the exception of Kansas, and Missouri. This means you may file your state return irrespective of what your federal e-file status is or even if you are not e-filing your federal portion of the return. Therefore, the "State Only" returns can be resent if initially rejected. For the Other two states, you can only e-file the state return again as "State Only" if the Federal Return passes and the State Return fails. If the "State Only" option is not available, then you must paper file that particular state return. |
