Question: If I e-file, does anything need to be sent to the IRS?

Answer: TAX$IMPLE supports five digit PIN/Date of Birth and Last year's AGI authentication for your tax return. TAX$IMPLE will prompt/help you with this information. If you supply these information, you do not have to file Form 8453/Form 8453-OL. It replaces the need for a signature. If no PIN Authentication id used, then you must file the 8453/8453-OL with the appropriate IRS facility named in the 8453 instructions.
